A.A.C.A.A - History
The Afrikan-American Cultural Awareness Association, Inc. - A.A.C.A.A established in June of 1996 as a non profit cultural arts and education organization, provides cultural arts enrichment and awareness to communities throughout Connecticut through the use of education, visual arts, performing arts, conferences, workshops, and special events. AACAA's core education program is an Afrikan / Afrikan - American Curriculum Supplement - aneducation-through-the-arts initiative that engages youth and lifelong learners with Afrikan-American history lessons. We have also provided an Afrikan Exchange Program, established in 1997, where youth and youth leaders have spent a month in Ghana, west Afrika, performing and participating in collaborative educational, cultural and historical activities.
